NVON Project in Common Report

Threads for Hope, the NVON 2000-2002 project in common has continued
on. Over 766,820 skeins of embroidery floss has been delivered to our
sisters in South Africa. How interesting to purchase finished products
just seven weeks after these ladies learned to thread a needle. The
beautiful things we receive today are far advanced and more ladies are
continually being taught. To date over $15,000 worth of items have been
sold. The workers have been paid as they have handed over the products.
For many it is the first money they have earned. Think of their joy to
be able to buy something for their families!
In 2003 the NVON Board gave permission for floss to also be distributed
in Asia as we continue to help our ACWW sisters. Items will no longer be
available for sale, however floss will be distributed until the supply
is exhausted..
